About Tommy Andersen, CEO and President
Tommy Andersen knows the value of staying the course and consistently going the extra mile, day in and day out. And he knows about facing difficult decisions and taking action to ensure the best for his family and clients.
After settling down in Southern California, getting married and becoming a father, Tommy’s life changed drastically when he was faced with the decision to raise his children on his own, becoming a single dad to a 2 ½ year-old daughter and newborn son.
Suddenly, life changed. “My children needed me and I wanted to be with them. I sold my house, quit a very good job and moved to a less expensive area,” he says.
Whatever money was left after paying for childcare, Tommy put toward sales and marketing for his own business. “Those were some lean years in the beginning, but I had faith and trusted God,” he says.
For Scripture says to Pharaoh:
“I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
— Romans 9:17
It was at that time, Tommy met his business partner Richard Harrison, Holistic Wealth Partners’ chief operating officer. The two have been together for nearly 20 years, a stable and consistent business relationship. Those core values – stability and consistency – are not only among those of which the foundation of Holistic Wealth is built upon, but also what Tommy and Richard seek to provide to their clients.
While stability is at the firm’s core, it wasn’t always a smooth ride. The housing crisis and great recession of 2008-2009 impacted their business like many other business owners. “We persevered and transitioned as needed,” Tommy says. In 2015, knowing they wanted to focus on serving their pre-retirement and retiree client base with retirement income, financial planning and wealth management services, they relocated their practice to Southwest Florida.
Tommy and Richard focus on Holistic Financial Planning – which considers how the varied aspects of one’s financial well-being are intertwined – and how they mold together to help a client achieve their goals. “Essentially, we act as a fiduciary ‘quarterback.’ We’ve aligned ourselves with a talented team that’s available to serve each particular need of our clients,” Tommy says, noting that these areas include trusted attorneys, CPAs, real estate agents and home lending brokers.
“We believe everyone has their own unique sets of needs and best possible solutions to those needs. And each aspect of a family’s personal finances must be considered both on its own merit and in how changes in that one area will impact every other aspect,” he says.
“People choose to work with us because we listen to them.”
Tommy is now married to Alicia and is father to six awesome kids: Sadie Rose, Lucas, Nathan, Gunnar, Lars and McKenzie. The couple’s grandson, Jett, is the most recent addition. When not visiting and meeting clients, Tommy stays healthy with biking, triathlons and CrossFit (rumor has it that he also played rugby back in the day), and he enjoys following baseball and football. He’s also an avid reader and lifelong learner, pursuing continuing education when needed.
Tommy is a graduate of Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California with an Associate of Arts degree. Tommy’s Master of Business Administration degree is from Pepperdine University in Malibu. He is a member of the National Ethics Association and a past president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
“People choose to work with us because we listen to them,” something Tommy’s father instilled in him while growing up in Brooklyn, New York and Hightstown, New Jersey. “I genuinely care and have been through life and can identify with so many shared and similar life experiences.”
